Well, it only took one hub to get me back to complaining. But now, I am just fed up to here with Chloe and her self-righteous attitude towards everyone...especially the people she has used, hurt, taken advantage of ....you get the point.

So, let's work backwards. Because either this is the straw that broke the camel's back or the thing I am really disgusted most about, but I am absolutely horrified at her whole sole custody suit against Billy. Not only has he proven himself to be a devoted, loving, conscientious Dad to Delia, but the little girl adores him and for Chloe to take this step in the name of what's best for her daughter is just more proof of how self-centered this little bitch really is. Not to mention that she took advantage of his heartbreak at losing Baby Lucy (not to mention his marriage to Victoria) and then had the nerve to complain that he was spiraling downward as if her custody suit didn't contribute to that very spiral, and her dropping it might well have been all it would have taken to stop it. Her refusal to even let Billy explain things to Delia just proved that this is not about Delia, not about Billy, but all about Chloe lashing out though i don't really know what she is so mad at Billy about. Jana? Come on, that is old news, Delia was not hurt and truthfully, that was more Victoria's stubbornness than Billy's failure to take good care of his children.

Now, working backwards, let's examine Chloe's history. So there's this. Then there is breaking and entering into Jana's apartment with Gloria to find the goods on Jana. Oh, and by the way, does anyone agree that obviously Chloe's distrust of Jana was as much about her new relationship with Kevin than any true sense that Jana was a danger to Delia and Lucy? I mean Chloe is not the type to just give up when she feels she has a rival, so she wanted Jana gone just in case some of Kevin's old feelings for her might re-surface. A night in jail because Chloe refused to let Heather represent her - oh wait, for the same reason - because she and Heather had been rivals for Chance. And this is a fit mother?

Then let's look at how she treated Chance who loved her and Delia and was ready to step in and marry her and be a father to Delia. Okay, so he screwed up (it's not like Heather didn't throw herself at him), but Chloe refused to commit to him too and then slept with Ronin. Oh wait, so did Heather. Chance is not the type to allow this to pass, so she got dumped and moved on to Kevin. Or was it Ronin. See? I can't even keep track. Again, out for Chloe, not caring about the other people. And, let me add, while Chloe is preoccupied with this and the fulltime job at Restless Style, Delia is being raised by Esther. Again, fit mother? Perfect mother? In a position to judge others? I think not!!!

Now, how can we leave the whole Cane drama out of this. When Chloe (oh, on top of everything else she's really Kate, Esther's long lost daughter who didn't even tell Mom she was in town for a few months), first came to Genoa City, figured out that Cane was her lover Billy's brother (not really but even we thought so then - see my Cane/Lily hub for that complaint) Chloe drugged Cane (or got him drunk, can't remember, who cares), pretended that they had sex in the car on the way home and then claimed that her pregnancy was because of him. He only found out Delia wasn't his after she was born and Billy had come to town and Chloe wanted to be with Billy. Takes Delia right out of Cane's arms (and he named her). So, even Delia's conception was about trapping an Abbott (Chloe liked the idea of the money), not about loving Billy or wanting his child. She married Billy, but that was a farce from the beginning. Just going through people as if they don't matter except how they can get Chloe what she wants. Even the flashbacks of how she trapped Billy made me disgusted with this little tramp.

Okay, so Billy's not the most honorable person in Genoa City (this is a soap opera, so maybe that title goes to little Fen Baldwin or Delia Abbott or Faith Newman), but he's far from the worst. Not to mention that his bogus arrest the night before the judge made her custody ruling had been set up by Victor. Now I am sure that so was the blond trying to lure him into bed when Victoria caught him. But is he any worse than Chloe who has only used her child to get her the money, position and power she craves? Not in my book.

So, this is the second custody ruling in a row that has really left me scratching my head about how my favorite soap is going to worm out of the writing slump they are in. Because not only are the re-hashing old plots way too often, they are not making realistic sense, which was always part of this show's huge success and popularity.

What should/could happen:

Billy, who now was found to have NO alcohol in his blood when everyone was so sure he would (after the car accident) and who heard everything Victoria said to him, decides to straighten up and fly right in order to not only win back his wife, but both of his daughters (yes, including Baby Lucy). He goes to work at Jabot with Jack and Ashley, he convinces Victoria to take him back. He files appeals in both custody cases and this time, the judges see him for the great parent he is. As a matter of fact, compared to ALL his siblings (even Tracy who blew it with Colleen when Colleen was a teen), Billy is the closest parent to their Dad, John Abbott. Maybe right there is a plotline worth considering.
